Games of 2014

Hello everybody,

First of all let me wish you a happy 2015, I  hope you have a fantastic year and lets make it a good year for gaming.

OK, Lets get to it, I am going to begin blogging now (finally) as it is the start of the year. I thought this would be an ample time to do so seeing as I can begin all of this afresh, beginning with a quick review from myself to you on my top 5 games of 2014!!!!

The games that I talk about are ones in my opinion that you need to keep your eyes open for in the sales or reductions, so don't give up on me just yet.

Right then, to begin with I will list my top 5 games of 2014 in order of my playtime and what order of awesomeness I shall leave up to you to discuss and fight over, haha.

1. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
2. Destiny
3. Assassins Creed: Rogue
4. Farcry 4
5. Shadow of Mordor

As explained above, the games are not in order of popularity, but of how much I have played. Please stand by for future posts about each of the games in their own section as I don't believe any single game should be subjected to being blagged/bragged about in a small section of a different post.

What I will be doing is giving a brief run down on each of the games and their genre in my own experience and views so that you can choose which of the games to think about and I hope I help you on your way to many hours of virtual happiness.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

This game got me to clock countless amounts of hours as I am huge fan of the franchise and no matter what bad or negative comments people have given about this game, I personally believe it perfectly lived up to the standards that 2K and Gearbox promised and didn't disappoint on game play. Borderlands in a nutshell is a game about a handful of mercenaries who have nothing in common except the ability to kill and the bounty on their heads for each of their crimes. Borderlands is the ultimate in the 'shoot and loot' genre. It is very much so free-roaming and 90% of the game is down to if you want/please to do whats needed the story missions obviously lead to progression but you needn't do the side missions unless you wish to unravel more of the history/lore of Pandora/Elpis.
You get the choice of 4 vault hunters (more inc in DLC) as they're named and hunt through colonies of enemies to save the world and get the most bad ass of loot to outfit your mercenary as you see fit.

Destiny

Destiny is a game that you pick between 3 races, 3 classes and a variety of weaponry to compliment your game play. Each class will have you progress the game in a very different way. Each of the classes have 2 unique skill tree's to utilize and a level system to change the game play and how creative the future of your game can be. I played this game almost religiously, it didn't take me too long to get 2 characters to level 20 and a third to 15. It is a very enjoyable game and i believe all those that've given it a chance will agree with the statement that it will get you hooked.
The concept of the game is; The universe is being consumed by a seemingly unstoppable darkness and it is up to the 'Guardians' to cleanse this darkness by traveling through the universe between planets and completing the mission/exploring to make the universe a safer place. Destiny has a way of incorporating single player types with the potential use of multi-player use by adding raids etc to get rare and exotic weapons and armor to further yourself.

Assassins Creed: Rogue

Now this game had me interested as soon as i saw its release trailer, I am personally a huge fan of this franchise as I have followed them from the first assassins creed right up to this one sadly not 'Unity' though as it is a next gen console game.
The aim of this game is to take you on a complete different path to every other of the franchise; Here you take the roll of an assassin by the name of Shay. Shay is your average inquisitive and curious type, he is commended throughout the prologue for always working to an outstanding degree, but in a twist to the game, you find out some truths about the creed and your entire life is seemingly a lie, forcing you to seek another path.
The game itself is full of opportunity and as much free roaming and sailing as you can take, throughout Europe and America. When you have betrayed the order you are then found in America and enlisted as a Templar (shock, horror) where you seemingly happily take the roll and this changes everything as you now experience how you treated the Templar's in the past by being constantly hunted by assassins that are hidden on rooftops, in hay carts and crowds etc. This adds a very challenging but fun aspect to the game as you must always be aware.

Farcry 4

Farcry 4 is a game I have not dedicated enough time too as of yet. My amazing girlfriend bought me this game to add it to my  gaming collection and for my blog (top girlfriend).
This game sticks by its guns of the predecessor Farcry 3, I found that i thoroughly enjoyed number 3 but this is on a whole new level already its eye candy in a game.
In this installment you are found in Kyrat where you have just gone for the simple task of spreading your mothers ashes. Only things are never simple in games are they.
Here have an entire country to explore and many ways to do so from gliders to wing-suits to on foot, the aim of the game is to liberate the entire country from the president named Pagan Min.

Shadow of Mordor (Lord of the Rings Franchise)

If like me you enjoy your fantasy then this is one the more anticipated games as the concept of a game with complete free roaming and the means to dominate an Orc army. You can slay anything from the pawns to war chiefs this factor really got me excited for this.
Shadow of Mordor gives you control over a fallen ranger named Talion, who is denied death as the world needs his blade and will to liberate the thousands of slaves and the land that has been wrongly taken from middle-earth.
In this game you get complete free roaming control, access to range of skill sets, the ability to use sneak attacks, ranged attacks with a bow and arrow and finally straight up sword and dagger dual wielding to slice through the troops of the dreaded Sauron.

Now I thank you for reading very, very much so and if you have any comments or queries about my blog or what you would like me to elaborate/ review for you please feel free to let me know.

Lets make it a great year,

C.A.C
